As Robin Gibb and the Bee Gees band were charming millions of fans, a music artist was born in Pakistan, destined to be inspired by this great band. Well known musician Mahmood Khan, who was born and brought up in Pakistan, became a great fan of Robin Gibb. He always admired the Gibb brothers, and after Robin Gibb’s death at 62, Khan was deeply moved by the loss.
Recently, Mahmood Khan expressed his love and affection for the late Robin Gibb with a soundtrack. Khan paid tribute to the legendary artist by dedicating his album “Hum Do” to Robin in 2012. Khan was heartbroken by the loss of the great artist, and said that he could not believe that Robin was truly gone. After he got over the initial shock of Robin’s loss, he started composing an album for Robin. His deep dedication led him to complete the album within one month. Khan said that he was so deeply involved in writing for Robin that he instinctively started writing in Urdu, but did not realize it until later. On this, he said, “Then I remembered talking to Robin when I had met him and he believed that music has no language and that music is a feeling.” This statement clearly demonstrates the connection that Mahmood Khan felt with Robin Gibb. The 2012 album was merely a small piece of his love for Robin.
