Mahmood Khan And Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan
From the land of Pakistan came two uniquely versatile singers and music producers, Mahmood Khan and the late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. The legend of these two artists' gifts is undeniable. Even though each artist performed a different form of music, they came together because they shared a love for the art.
Singer Mahmood Khan was the man who redefined music in the United States and Australia. Today he continues to be the heart-throb of millions of fans. He began his musical journey by working as a second engineer at Jam Power in the USA. At Jam Power, he helped artists record music. Khan credits this as the foundation of his musical success because he learned to produce music while training himself to his full potential.
On the other hand, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was a man who had always belonged to a music background, and created his legacy in Pakistan, particularly in Sufi music. His primary art was to perform Qawwalis and he became internationally recognized for his exceptional talent.
Even though both artists Mahmood Khan and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan were from the same country, their music types were quite different. The two artists came together only once to work on the album “Only One” in 1997. This was the second solo album from Khan and featured Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Although Mahmood had previously released his debut album “Fairytale” in the year 1995, it went relatively unnoticed by the industry. However, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan did notice the passion in the album, and approached Mahmood Khan in 1997 to collaborate for a project. The result was “Only One.”
