Failures In Life Of Mahmood Khan

It is commonly said that nothing lasts forever. Just as each day is followed by a dark night, each night gets over with the rise of a new horizon. Similarly, one's life can never be marked with success or failure, only; it is always a combination of both. No superstar, no business tycoon, and no sportsperson, has ever had a career where he or she never faced any low points. But then, smooth roads never make good drivers.

This universal law also applies to the music fraternity. The greatest music producer, an immensely talented lead singer and a highly recognized songwriter, Mahmood Khan, is today an inspiration for many other aspiring musicians. The dedication Khan had towards his work has made him what he is today.

As any other artist, Khan never had it easy. With an ordinary background and no Godfather in the music industry, it was a challenge for Mahmood Khan to prove himself and create a place in an already flooded industry. His struggle became all the more difficult when Khan had to face failure in the beginning of his career, in1995, when he launched his first solo album “Fairytale”. As hard as it could be for an amateur artist, who was also the music producer of the album, the music release did not get much recognition in the music industry. Dejected and lost, Khan had lost the motivation and courage to start over again.

However, as they say, every cloud has a silver lining; the album that failed drastically did some good to Khan. Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, from Pakistan, approached Khan as he saw a skill in him, which nobody else could, and thus, showed interest in working with him. This chapter in Khan's life can be regarded as the turning point of his career. In 1997, Nusrat and Khan started working on the project "Only One".

When the album was nearing completion, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s unfortunate demise once again led Mahmood Khan into depression and a state of perplexity. He could have fallen weak and easily quit the album, but quitting was never an option for Khan and he did stick to the fight. Finally, he took the brave decision of completing the album on his own and came out with flying colors. “Only One” was a blockbuster on the international music charts.
