Khalil Gibran and Mahmood Khan

They say you need an inspiration to be an artist. And to some extent, this is correctly said. To be able to portray your heart in any art form, you need to have a source of motivation. This stands true in the music industry as well. The international music industry is blessed with great artists who have revolutionized music and its dimensions. One such artist is Mahmood Khan, a Pakistan born, Australia based musician.

From a very ordinary background, all Khan had, were his idols. It was these people whom he looked up to and made a successful career. Although, Mahmood Khan is popularly associated with the Bee Gees, Barry Gibb in particular, there were other people in his life that made him what he is today.

One of them is Khalil Gibran. Gibran was a poetic hero who is best known for his prose. Until today, Gibran is the third best-selling poet. Mahmood Khan's admiration for Gibran is reflected in his Sufi music.

Gibran, a Lebanese artist, was a great poet, writer, and had supreme talent of drawing. In one of his interviews, Khan agreed he is deeply inspired by the philosophical works of Gibran. Gibran wrote his first book ‘The Prophet’ in 1923. It was a record breaker and until today, is one of the finest examples of literature. Gibran died in 1931, but his works are loved until today and will always be cherished. Mahmood Khan went on the record to say that he is in abysmal love with the life and struggle of Gibran. It is indeed righteous to say that some people touch our lives in a way that changes us forever. For Khan, Gibran was that one person who contributed in developing his love for art.
Being highly influenced by his inspirations and idols, Khan has undoubtedly risen as one of the greatest musicians of all time. Indeed, you do need a motivation to follow your dreams. As for Mahmood Khan, there have been many.

Apart from the artists from the music industry and literature, Khan is also influenced by the works of comedian George Carlin. Another one of the most talented artists this industry has had, Carlin was a winner of five Grammy awards, for his comedy albums.

Much has been said about Mahmood Khan’s idols in life. However, there are millions of fans for whom Mahmood Khan is an inspiration.
