Remembering Old Days- “Kisii Manzil”

It is a very popular saying that no matter where you reach in life, no matter how high you go; you must never forget where you came from. Staying connected and honest to your roots is what makes successful people. The World has seen many artists rise and fall, but there are only a few who have risen but never forgot their roots. One such artist is Mahmood Khan. As a singer, songwriter, music producer, and a filmmaker, Khan has achieved many acclaims in his 15 year long career. Even though he has tasted success, he is one artist who has always remained humble and grateful for what he is.

When we say that Khan is connected to his origins, we mean, he never forgot the place where he came from. It is also the place that made Khan immensely talented and capable of being an international musician. This place is his hometown, Pakistan.

Khan has a unique way of writing and expressing through his songs. His work is often regarded as the one loaded with spirituality and contentions. Even though Mahmood Khan emerged as a successful artist, he was still hooked to his school in Pakistan. The name of his school was the Sadiq Public School, located in Bahawalpur, Pakistan. Khan dedicated a song to the memories and moments he had in his school. The song was "Kisii Manzil", meaning Some Destination.

Mahmood Khan is full of emotions when he talks about his hometown and the people there. This song “Kisii Manzil” is a depiction of his love and attachment to his school and school life. It is a token of gratitude for Khan's ability of producing, writing, and singing skills.

In a career that spans over two decades, Khan is the proud owner of milestone achievements. He is the first musician to have 50 million video streams, topped the ARIA music charts as the best-selling solo album, the first Asian to have performed live at the Sydney Opera House, and the list goes on. His natural endowment to produce music was the reason the Australian Government gave him the title of “Distinguished Talent” officially, in 2011.

Certainly, Mahmood Khan does not like to keep the credit to himself. He has always been open about his inspirations and the people who made contribution in his success. Surely, Khan is an inspiration to millions of his fans, aspiring artists, and other stars in the industry.
