Mahmood Khan And Maurice Gibb Connection
Often referred to as a “Distinguished Talent”, the creator of a new genre of music, the man who has the ability to touch the heart; Mahmood Khan is a terrific musician, who excels in the fields of music production, singing, song writing, and even film making. Originally from Pakistan, Khan became the first artist to get many international acclaims. He is the first Pakistani to perform live at the Sydney Opera House in Australia.
For a man to achieve so much in a fifteen year career is a big thing. What supported him is a big question. Well, the answer is very clear. Khan belonged to an ordinary family in Lahore, Pakistan and all that he had as a background support were his idols in life.
Mahmood Khan grew up being a huge fan of the Bee Gees, the pop star band in the USA. The popular Gibb Brothers, the Bee Gees, were Khan's first and the biggest inspirations in life. The music band was a group of three brothers; namely, Maurice Gibb, Robin Gibb and Barry Gibb. It was during his childhood that Khan listened to the records of the Bee Gees and became their fan.
While Khan had a close relationship with all three of them, he had an altogether different connection with Barry. With Robin and Maurice, Khan was a friend. However, Barry is a father figure for him.
Khan was more attached with Maurice. They both had a brother like relationship, in which they respected and loved each other. Khan met Maurice when he moved to LA, USA in the late 1980’s, when he had a petty job but big dreams for the music industry. This turned into a deep and lasting friendship with Mahmood Khan, when he gave the nickname "Mo" to Maurice.
On the demise of Maurice, Khan was deeply moved and could not bear the shock for quite some time. As a medium to express his love and affection for Maurice, Khan wrote a song “Am Trying”, which he also produced.
In the memory of his lost friend, Khan said to the media that Mo will always be missed by him and it is really important that the music by the Bee Gees remains and inspires everyone in the world. He also added that he feels blessed to have known Maurice in his life and all the moments spent with him will only get more special with time.
