Mahmood Khan’s “Songs Are People”

Since the initial years of the music industry, there have been some musicians who have completely different beliefs than other artists. For instance, Michael Jackson always worked under his own production house and never felt the need to approach any other music producer than himself to launch his music. Same is the case with Mahmood Khan. Since the beginning of his career, Khan has always worked under his own label including his first album.




Today, Mahmood Khan is a renowned musician with the skills of a music producer, a songwriter, a singer, and a filmmaker. He was never in the favor of pleasing someone else to launch his work. Believing that there are already tons of artists who are waiting to get their work launched, Khan was inclined towards having his own production house.  So, his first album, “Fairytale”, was released under his own record label in 1995. Even though it was not a huge success commercially, Khan never gave up the idea of being his own boss and further continued to sell albums under his own production house only.

However, over the years Mahmood Khan is widely known across the world as a musician of all times. He is exceptionally good at almost every genre of music. Not only this, he has been credited with the crown of creating two genres of music, the Modern Funk and the Hip Hop.
Currently, Khan’s record label is named “Songs Are People” and all his works are launched under this only. This production house has become famous over the years, due to its individuality and the kind of music it delivers. Mostly, all the releases of Songs Are People are a self production of Mahmood Khan.

Since its establishment, Khan has given some exceptionally great works from Songs Are People including, “Beqarar, Like the River”, and many more. With the various skills that he possesses, Khan is recognized with many national and international music awards.

Khan is deeply inspired by the works of Barry Gibb when it comes to music production. Indeed, Songs Are People is a great depiction of Khan’s talent as a music producer. His most prominent works include the sound track “We Could Be Paradise”, which was sung by 40 Australian artists including Khan, and was produced by Mahmood Khan only.
